"Jam Days" is drawn in pretty much the same way as Chapel Chronicles, but it’s colored differently! For Jam Days (once I had planned out the pages with thumbnail sketches) I sketched all the pages with pencil on watercolor paper, inked with Micron pens, and painted the pages with watercolor on top of everything. Once all the pages had been painted and dried I scanned them in and cleaned them up a little in Photoshop so that I could print them into a comic book.
There’s no difference in how I drew Season One of Chapel and how I’ve drawn the other seasons of the comic. For every Chapel comic I’ve done, I sketched the comic traditionally with pencil and inked with pens on tracing paper. I then scan the inks, clean them up in Photoshop, and do the colors digitally.
Oh wow, I’m so happy you checked back in, I missed having one of my regular Chapel readers!! I hope school’s going okay for you and I hope you do keep reading Chapel and checking in — I always like hearing what you have to say. Thanks a lot for saying that I’ve improved, too, that really means a lot to me!! Hope you keep commenting!
Okay, more drawing prompts!! How about people setting off fireworks?
Pretty good. I just spent the morning cleaning, answering Chapel comments, and starting the pencils for next week’s strip.
Yes, green is my favorite color! I also like pink and yellow…
A robot that blows soap bubbles! Does that work as a drawing prompt?
